Marigold Path Grid Blog: My Grandmother

My Mom and I walked into the hospital to visit my grandmother in intensive care. As we approached the private doors, the doctor walked out and casually said, “She’s gone, she died a few minutes ago.” Looking startled my Mom asked, “What did she die from?” The doctor replied, “from a lack of will to live.”

The words of the doctor stayed in my head. At 16, I wondered how you die from a lack of will to live. She stood just a bit more than five feet. She wasn’t a typical grandmother by any stretch of the imagination. I don’t ever recall playing with her or being tended to by her.

She smelled of cigarettes and Channel #5. Her face frowned downward from years of sadness. I sensed in her the mystery of pain. It both attracted and repulsed me
People wondered if I was sad she died and I did not know. I realized I had not known her.

I see her fingerprints on my life. I was born with an ability to feel and sense the pain of others. I can recall from a very young age feeling her pain, wanting to run from it.

Years later I found myself running a suicide prevention center. I was leading training on suicide and someone asked me what led me to this work. Much to my surprise, I said my grandmother. No one ever talked about my grandmother attempting suicide, but somewhere within me, it registered.

I’d love to speak with her now, to know her story. I sense she was a deeply spiritual woman. I recall sitting at the kitchen table when I was 5 confiding that I had never believed in Santa Claus. Her eyes widened in horror, she felt sorry for my inability to believe.

Before we left the hospital, my Mom called my Dad to tell him the news. My Dad calmly said, “I already know, she died. She’s in heaven.” Needless to say I was a bit weirded out by this. Through the years, I have asked my Dad how he knew. I now “know” he knew. I find some comfort in the fact that my grandmother’s pain is gone and she is resting in a place where all who suffer find ultimate peace.

Perhaps Santa Claus does really exist. I actually did know my grandmother.

This made me think of my granny who committed suicide at 90. I wish I knew her story.

Two years ago, I wrote this post about a part of my faith dying. I had a great deal of sadness when I wrote this wondering where god would show up next and if I would recognize her/him. God showed in a huge way in a wonderful little community, sportsbook Journey Imperfect Faith Community. While I adore Journey and all that god is showing me in this community, there has been a longing for reconciliation with my tradition. It tugs and nudges at me especially during holy week. As I was processing this with a wise woman- I began reciting the baptismal covenant - we receive you into the household of god.
Tears flowing, I said, They dumped me. bet nfl Big pause and then like a 2x4 it hit me- yes, in a moment in time the church made up of imperfect people treated me and my family badly. Then just as I had recited the covenant, I began to list all the church had given me throughout my life - the people taught me about a god , the people who had loved me and the people who did ministered to me. I looked up at the sportsbook wise woman and she said, "that is what we call acceptance."
This past Sunday on Palm Sunday I at woke at 8:50 rolled out of bed- threw on clothes and was standing at the entry as the organist began playing All Glory Laud and Honor. I stood alone with my palm in hand http://www.enterbet.com unlike two years earlier- I felt it- god was there.

forgive my bad spelling and long post)well. google grid is a high posibility.sportsbook in order for it to happen though you would need alot of servers. this is simple how ever. not now by no means but around 2006 it could be. soney created a super chip. know as the cell proceser. the power of the super chip can be compared to a blade server. the blade server is stronger then the super chip... but not by much. meaning this small easy to make microchip can be mass produced.march madness maybe even have better vertions of it made in 2007. its a big posibility. right now you would need a huge room to fit about 5 servers in it. however the chip im talking about is the size of a thumb tack. they would need to mass produce the chips and place them in there own server box. the averge size serverbox if modded corectly could end up holding nearly a million of the superchips im talking about. trafficing information at the spead of light and saving it to a server is just as well as possible.
in all the google grid is posible. actuly its very possible... you just have to wait untile 2006 thats when sony will start sending out the chips. the servers could be anywear.who knows google mite even perches a few plots of land dedicated to only holding the servers.www.canadacasino.com its a posibility

About Me

Hmmm...Who am I? let's see the facts first. I'm 48 years old, married to my high school sweet heart, Bob. I I'm a mess most of the time, but everyone always thinks I really have it together. I love to listen to people and hear their stories. Art and writing are my spiritual practices. I deeply believe in god and that god is love. My theology is wide and constantly changing. When I was 18 I wrote out 4 pages single spaced on spiritual questions I had about life. I'm not sure I've answered any of them.
